Abstract
Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) Is An Essential Security Feature That Enhances Protection Against Unauthorized Access. This Paper Evaluates MFA’s Effectiveness In Mitigating Cyber Threats Such As Phishing, Credential Theft, And Brute-force Attacks. Various MFA Techniques, Including Hardware Tokens, Biometrics, And SMS-based Authentication, Are Analyzed For Their Strengths And Weaknesses. Additionally, User Adoption Challenges, Such As Cost, Usability, And Implementation Complexity, Are Dis- Cussed. Real-world Case Studies Highlight The Security Implications Of Different MFA Techniques. Findings Suggest That While MFA Significantly Improves Authentication Security, Its Success Relies On User Compliance And Proper Implementation. Best Practices For Optimizing MFA Strategies Are Proposed [1]–[5].
