The Government Welfare Programs Are Intended To Ensure Inclusive Growth, Social Security, And Economic Stability. However, Despite The Existence Of Many Welfare Programs, A Large Number Of Eligible Beneficiaries Are Not Able To Avail Themselves Of These Benefits Due To A Lack Of Awareness And Complex Eligibility Criteria. The Recent Advancements In Artificial Intelligence (AI) And Deep Learning (DL) Technologies Have Made Intelligent Automation Possible In The Governance And Delivery Of Public Services. This Survey Work Provides A Comprehensive Review Of AI- Based Public Scheme Eligibility Engines And Guidance Assistance Systems. This Paper Examines The Existing Rule- Based, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, And Natural Language Processing (NLP) Techniques Used For The Identification And Recommendation Of Welfare Schemes. The Paper Also Points Out The Research Gaps In Terms Of Personalization, Scalability, Inclusivity, And Privacy.
